MY CHURCH

My church is a haven of comfort and peace where I worship God on Sunday morning.
My church is a place where I leave my worries and woes behind.
My church honors, worships, praises,and thanks God.
My church is a congregation of people who love God, and share His love with each other. What I
love the most: the people in my church are warmhearted, worshipful and welcoming to all, and I know
God is there.
My church has a pastor who teaches lessons from the Bible that gives us examples of how to live
our lives as God wills us to live, and he adds a little humor besides, to hear the music of our
laughter.
My church loves children and includes them in the beginning of our worship service with a story
and lesson each Sunday. After that they have Sunday school time with caring teachers.
My church provides communion different times of the year and all who desire to partake of the
Lord's offering are encouraged to do so.
My church has a glorious choir. They serenade us each Sunday with their beautiful voices, led by
our talented choir director and accompanied by our gifted organist. On occasion, our Sunday music is
performed by the lovely bell choir.
My church holds an adult Sunday school class each Sunday before the worship service. We call
it ASH—short for Adult Study Hour. Our teacher makes it interesting and fun. We learn a lot,
laugh a lot, and talk alot.
My church has a gathering after the worship service on Sunday in our Boulevard Room. Our
deacons provide coffee, tea and juice and people from the congregation take turns bringing homemade
goodies. It is a great social time as we visit with our church friends and enjoy the treats.
My church has more: delicious spaghetti dinners. Puppet shows put on by some of our talented
congregation that delight and entertain not only the children but older ones too. A Halloween party
for children and adults. A Christmas Caroling group who join for treats after their caroling. A new
program called Friday Night Java and Jive will begin May 14th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. In a café
setting, live music will be featured and hot drinks and treats will be offered. In the summer we have
worship and a picnic in a park. Think Summer, Think Church is a variety of fun themes for our worship
service such as: Short Sunday when the sermon is short, the scripture reading is short, we might wear
shorts—everything is short; Stump the Pastor is a Sunday we can ask the pastor questions in place
of a sermon; Bless our pets Sunday allows pet owners to bring their friends to our worship and have
them blessed. Each Sunday presents a special theme.
