By the word affirming, we signify our support and celebration of all human relationships based on commitment, loyalty, love & mutual respect.
Advent and Christmas
The Advent season is actually the beginning of the Christian year. Advent consists of four Sundays preceding Christmas Day. This is followed by Christmastide, which lasts for twelve days (the "twelve days of Christmas") until January 6, when Epiphany arrives.
At WRCC UCC we have many ways of celebrating Advent and Christmas, including a pot-luck luncheon, decorating the Sanctuary, painting our downstairs windows, going caroling for our shut-ins, presenting a cantata and a children's program, and other activities. Check the "Calendar of Events" to the right to see what's current.
Other activities are on-going. At the church, please consider taking part in out regular weekday activities:
- Pastor Schmitt leads a meditation group every Wednesday morning at 9:00. Coffee and snacks are enjoyed afterwards.
- Rev. Melinda Townsend leads a yoga group for an hour every Saturday morning at 8:30 in the Boulevard Room.
Also, our Deacons and Trustees meet every second Saturday at 9:30 and 10:30, respectively.
